Production Assembler - SoundTraxx

Summary
We have an immediate opening for an Assembler in our production department at our manufacturing facility in Durango, Colorado. This position requires excellent manual dexterity, and good or correctable eyesight. This position offers an opportunity for entry into a new career. Applicant must be local.

Assembly positions receive daily instruction from the Production Team Leader with goal of assembling and testing SoundTraxx products, ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering world-class products.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate must be a hands-on individual who possesses a high level of drive, energy and integrity. Assembly experience and/or soldering is a plus, but we will train the right candidate. Experience handling small objects in a similar environment or with a detail-oriented hobby is desirable. Any electronics, machine operation, or technical troubleshooting experience is a plus.

Core Responsibilities
The primary goal of this position is to assemble and test SoundTraxx products for sales to both aftermarket and OEM customers, ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering world-class products.

Embedded Systems Engineer

Summary
As our Embedded Systems Engineer, you will design, develop, test and document new software, firmware and hardware systems for SoundTraxx products. Our products are multi-faceted and you will get to work in the areas digital audio processing, motor control and data communications. You will also support, maintain and improve existing designs. In addition to product development with an emphasis on design-for-manufacturability, you will provide engineering support to the production floor. Reporting to the R&D Manager, you will help drive product innovation and become an instrumental member of our team as we continue to grow our business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • 2-5 years of Embedded Systems Engineering experience,
  • Must have a proven track record of designing products built in a medium volume manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work onsite in our new facility in Durango, CO. We are very open to candidates willing to relocate to Durango.
  • US Citizen or permanent US status required. No student or work visas.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Participate in collecting, developing and analyzing design requirements.
  • Analyze problems in design, recommend and implement solutions in a timely manner.
  • Design, document and test hardware from the component level up with a focus on design-for-manufacturability.
  • Develop code, test and debug to meet system requirements. Analyze and enhance the efficiency and stability of system resources.
  • Provide input to project planning, budgeting, scheduling and tracking.
  • Create test protocols and end-of-line test requirements, perform design validation testing and participate in external testing for EMC and ESD compliance. Collect data and prepare reports.
  • Champion all documentation: time, cost and resource estimates, issue or respond to Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), update Source Control Documents (SCDs), update processes, and maintain other Engineering documentation.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineer and provide technical support and recommendations to enhance production and quality control.

  • Hands-on experience with development and troubleshooting of both hardware and software for embedded targets.
  • Experience designing and creating requirement specifications, test plans and protocols.
  • Must have experience with analog circuit design, digital hardware design, PCB layout (Altium a plus) and single-chip micro-controllers.
  • Solid programming experience using structured software design with C or C++.
  • Experience ensuring software quality, participating in code reviews, working with coding standards.
  • Familiar with configuration management, defect tracking, and version control tools.
  • Working knowledge of PCBA manufacturing and engineering processes.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of digital signal algorithm development is desired.
  • Experience with sound recording and editing is helpful.

Job Description

The Sales and Marketing Manager leads all aspects of sales and marketing including sales, customer support and marketing, and works with the Operations Manager and ownership to grow the company. The Sales and Marketing Manager manages all marketing for the company and activities within the marketing department, develops the marketing strategy to be aligned with company objectives and creates the Marketing Plan. This person coordinates marketing campaigns with sales activities and oversees the company’s marketing budget.

The Sales and Marketing Manager creates the advertising and selling programs for the company's products to create competitive advantages in the model railroad industry. The Sales and Marketing Manager's responsibilities include generating unique sales plans, creating engaging advertisements, emails, and promotional literature, developing pricing strategies, and providing direction to the engineering team(s) with regard to new product development strategies.

The Sales and Marketing Manager represents the company's brand and corporate identity, and drives strategies to increase product awareness by observing the market, competition, and industry trends.

The Sales and Marketing Manager directs the creation of marketing material in line with the marketing plan and plans and implements promotional campaigns. This position is also responsible for managing and improving lead generation campaigns, and creating and tracking these measurables.

The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for staying current in the industry by attending educational opportunities, conferences, and workshops, reading publications, and maintaining personal and professional networks. This position is expected to collaborate and report to company owners and managers as a member of the Leadership Team and to convey sales and marketing activities to the organization.

Key Accountabilities – Sales and Marketing Manager

  • Directs email campaigns and flows to subscriber base, including lifecycle messaging, promotions, product releases and content.
  • Maintains effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of marketing objectives.

  • 6 or more years of relevant business experience in a consumer product environment and in a leadership or executive level role.

Summary

This person will be responsible for servicing our customers by providing information and support that meets customer needs or solves a problem. The goal of the Customer Service Representative is to ensure excellent service standards, respond efficiently to customer inquiries and maintain high customer satisfaction.

Purchasing Assistant- Part Time

Summary
We have an immediate opening for a part-time Purchasing Assistant at our manufacturing plant in Durango, Colorado. This person will be responsible for working with vendors to place orders for the products and raw materials needed to support company activities. With the guidance and supervision of the Operations Manager, the Purchasing Assistant will conduct administrative and support activities to keep the purchasing department running efficiently. The Purchasing Assistant also assists to maintain inventory and purchase records. The Purchasing Assistant conducts vendor research and selection to cut costs and enhance profitability or efficiency.

This role requires excellent attention to detail as well as the ability to maintain and update paper and computerized purchasing records. While most of this role’s duties tend to be administrative, the Purchasing Assistant may also buy supplies and materials directly from vendors in certain cases.

There is a possibility of this becoming a full-time or shared position.

The Purchasing Assistant is primarily responsible for after-sale support.

Duties of this position will include:

  • Manage and maintain POs for raw goods, materials and supplies at the direction of the Operations Manager.
  • Manage pickups and drop-offs for incoming and outgoing shipments as needed.
  • Monitor delivery schedules against purchase orders to ensure that all materials have arrived intact and in the ordered quantity.
  • Schedule outgoing shipments for returns or when sending purchased materials or supplies to a company’s off-site locations or other locations for value-added materials or assemblies.
  • Contact vendors to follow up on late or missing shipments or to report damaged goods.
  • Maintain detailed paper or computerized records of purchases, including quantities ordered and received, shipping information, and costs associated with the purchase.
  • Assist in the maintenance of vendor information and contacts.
  • Gather and confirm pricing at the direction of the Operations Manager and assist with vendor pricing comparisons.
  • Assist in monitoring the raw inventory levels to determine when new purchases should be scheduled by using the company’s inventory management software or conduct visual inspections of inventory and storage spaces to ensure accuracy.
