Tsunami2 leads the industry in processing power with a 32-bit processor that provides the necessary performance to support 28 functions, 16 polyphonic sound channels, extensive sound and lighting effects, and advanced motor control.

Tsunami2 Digital Sound Decoders integrate a full-featured sound system, Hyperlight™ lighting effects, Hyperdrive2™ advanced motor control, and a DCC decoder into a single package. Each model offers over 60 individual sounds and more than 20 lighting effects.

Tsunami2 includes a massive library of whistles, horns, bells, compressors, and remastered legacy recordings. Multiple prototypes are available within each model, eliminating the need to download files or purchase additional programs. Enhanced audio output, dual volume mixers, and a built-in Equalizer provide loud, clear, and flexible sound customization.

Dynamic Digital Exhaust (DDE) automatically adjusts volume and engine RPM scheduling to simulate realistic locomotive power output during operation. Engine RPM increases as the DDE processor detects greater motor demand and decreases as demand is reduced, delivering prototypical operational realism.

Tsunami2 includes three types of braking—Independent, Train, and Dynamic Braking—allowing for enhanced operational control. Diesel versions also include Head End Power (HEP) mode, and steam versions feature adjustable steam cut-off for additional realism.

Hyperdrive2 provides smooth, precise low-speed operation with lurch-free performance. Switching mode reduces speed by half at the press of a function key for enhanced control during yard operations.

Tsunami2 supports full 28-function operation and includes Flex-Map technology, allowing any function or sound effect to be assigned to any key easily and intuitively.

Tsunami2 Digital Sound Decoders are designed for installation inside locomotives and are available in steam, diesel, and electric versions, each featuring a full spectrum of prototype-specific sound effects. All models comply with NMRA DCC Standards and Recommended Practices.
